accommodations

The event is held at the Ramblewood Retreat Center on 200 acres of very private land in Northern Maryland. Minutes from I-95, the event is easily accessible by public transportation. You can view a map of the site here.

Once a summer camp for kids, Ramblewood has been completely upgraded and now caters exclusively to private groups. Each of the 40 cabins have full bathrooms with hot water, showers and flush toilets. Most of the bathrooms have been renovated in the last year. Cabins also have electricity, mattresses, lighting and ceiling fans. You will need to bring your own bedding.

For those who wish to get closer to nature, you can pitch your tent almost anywhere on the 200 acre site. This allows for a level of privacy which is unavailable in cabins. Tenters have full use of bathroom facilities in the cabins, with the understanding that they are expected to help with cleanup on the last day of the event.

Speaking of privacy, new to our events this year is a space devoted to "private" liaisons. At Fires of Venus, this is a cabin with two rooms. Each room is available for brief assignations on a first-come, first-served basis. All we ask is that you keep your time in these spaces brief in deference to those who might be waiting for them and that you bring your own bedding and clean up after yourselves when you're done. (Please don't try to sleep in these cabins. We *will* toss you out of them.)

meals

While some people enjoy cooking their own meals at their campsites, most enjoy the community of sharing meals at the camps dining hall. This year's dining hall mealplan will feature a buffet meal at each mealtime. We will post a menu well before the event, but please understand that supply issues sometimes change the menus at the last minute.
