New for 2012
- Spiritual Check-in Space: Because the event now embraces folks who can arrive any day of the event, we've decided to forgo our previous standard of holding a formal Opening Ritual for the event. Instead, near HQ we'll have a space for people to spiritually "check-in" to the event whenever they arrive. After you've gotten your wristbands and signed the waivers, take a moment to really settle into the event. And don't feel like that's the only time you can go to this space. It will be available till midday on Saturday for you to touch base with the spiritual pulse of the event and really immerse yourself. We hope you'll find it a wonderful addition.
- Arrive Wednesday: The event has been extended, officially, to Wednesday, and instead of pre-conferences, we'll be starting our wonderful workshops first thing Thursday morning. So you can register to arrive Wednesday afternoon and get settled in. In the evening we'll have a Meet & Greet around the fire and there will be open play in the play space.
- Sensual Feast Saturday Night: We'll be holding our Sensual Feast again this year (and, yes, the bacon-wrapped dates will be on the menu, we promise). It's limited in size, so register early.
- Private Housing:
In response to feedback, we've decided to discontinue our semi-private housing and sell a very limited number of private rooms in the White House instead. These rooms are $80 each for the duration of the event and can house at least 2 people. They have doors that close and a lot of privacy, plus the bathrooms are used by far fewer people. We think you'll agree these rooms are a great deal.Sorry! Private housing is already sold out! You can select it and join the wait list if you like.
- New Bathrooms: Speaking of bathrooms, the camp staff has been hard at work, and they tell me most of the cabin bathrooms will be completely renovated for 2012.
T-shirt Presales: You can pre-order your Renew, Restore, Rekindle Passion t-shirts and sweatshirts when you register for the event. These shirts will be pre-order only, so be sure to add them to your registration.
- New location for HQ: We experimented at Fires of Venus and Rope Camp last year with moving our base of operations down to the breezeway by the pool. This central location worked so well we've decided to go ahead and do it at all of our events. The Coffee Club (see below) will be located there, as well as check in during quiet times. During busy periods, we'll be checking people in up in the parking field gazebo by the backstop.
- Coffee Club: In response to requests, we've decided to add a Coffee Club to the event this year. You pay for it in the pre-registration (it's not available on-site) at a rate of $19 and you get a gorgeous thermal travel coffee cup with our Renew, Restore, Rekindle Passion logo on it and all the coffee or tea you can drink for the duration of the event. We have a Keurig system which is easy to use and allows you to brew each cup fresh. We'll provide unlimited coffee (decaf and regular), tea (herbal, black and an assortment of others) and hot chocolate throughout the event. The only catch is you must use your new cup to make your coffee or tea (that's how we can tell you've paid!). We'll also provide whole and skim milk, soy milk, rice milk, honey, splenda and sugar. As a reminder, the Coffee Club is available for pre-registration ONLY. The Keurig will be available 24 hours a day.
- Playspace Improvements: We're building our own equipment! One of the things we've always wanted to do was to provide you with a better experience in our playspace. Towards that end, we're working on a complete equipment set which we're having built to our own specifications by artisans. As we add to this inventory, I think you'll find our space becoming more and more user-friendly.
- Raffle: We are holding a raffle to raise money to allow people who can't afford it to attend our event. Lots of great things to win! Just $1 a ticket, and you can pre-purchase them. For every $10, you get as many tickets as can go around your chest or up your inseam. Pay now and pick them up at check in. As easy as that!
